Schmuck For A Night

“Djalili at his magnetic best” – The List

Following a highly successful UK-tour earlier this year, Omid Djalili plans to take on Europe with a brand-new batch of continental dates. After a break from touring – to take on the starring role in a musical production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ – Omid now returns to stand-up with ‘Schmuck For A Night’. And there are two Belgian venues lucky enough to invite him: Zuiderpershuis Antwerp on the 3rd of May and Theatre 140 Brussels on the 4th of May. Tickets are available straightaway.

“Djalili is a consummate showbizz all-rounder” – Metro

On trying to make sense of the world around him in ‘Schmuck For A Night’, Djalili himself said:“ It’ll be so current sometimes audiences won’t laugh until they get home and turn on the TV.” As a stand-up and acclaimed actor, he featured in an impressive list of contemporary movies, series and live productions. From ‘Shaun the Sheep Movie’, to ‘Sex and the City 2’ over ‘The Mummy’: you might have spotted the man him more than you know.

“An amiable blend of clowning, storytelling, impressions and social comment that covers pretty much every base in stand-up” – Sunday Times

Apart from his busy stand-up and acting schedule, Djalili is not afraid of some more serious commitment. He executively produced the acclaimed documentary ‘We Are Many’, about the global anti-war demonstrations that took place in 800 cities a few years ago. Still the largest mobilisation of human beings in the history of the earth. In August 2016 he produced the Edinburgh Fringe show ‘Iraq Out & Loud’, which saw almost 1500 comedians and members of the public read the entirety of the Chilcot Report (concerning the UK’s government involvement in the Iraq War) for 24 hours a day, over 12 days. The memorable production was awarded with, among nominations, the prestigious Panel Prize at Edinburgh.

“So hysterically funny and at the same time so poignant and powerful that calling it stand-up barely does it justice.” – Huffington Post
